Hello!

"This photo was taken in Lake of the Woods County, Minnesota in January of 2009. I, Robin, am on the right, and RaeLynn is on the left. We purchased the shirts for our "team", we were fishing against the men...And yes, we won! (by one fish, but who's counting anyway?) We wore the shirts out to the bars that evening, and they were a huge hit! This picture was actually taken at the first bar in Williams, Minnesota. Everyone was asking where we got the t-shirts. Of course, we said "fishboy.com" (and even wrote it down for a couple people)... It was one of the funnest nights we have had. Thanks to the t-shirts we got an extraordinary amount of attention. Funny thing happened while on vacation on Prince Edward Island, Canada - warmer waters, sandy beaches compared to Mount Desert Island, Maine if your wondering why we'd make the seven hour trip - anyway back to the story.

We spotted some great funny fishing t-shirts in the store "Coastal Culture" or at least that's what one in our party said "Look at these funny fishing t-shirts!" Turns out they were Fishboy t-shirts. We kept telling our wholesale sales team to get up to Prince Edward Island! They have a lot of great deep sea fishing going on up there when the lobster season is over!

Seems they were in the need for some cool fishing t-shirts because everyone we saw in the store seem to have one of our shirts in their hands or were pointing them out to their husbands.

1 3-ounce ahi tuna steak, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 teaspoon fresh lime juice
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1 corn tortilla, warmed
1 plum tomato, diced
1/2 cup shredded romaine lettuce
1 tablespoon store-bought guacamole

In a small bowl, toss the tuna with the lime juice and cumin.

Heat a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add the tuna and cook, stirring occasionally, to desired doneness, about 4 minutes for medium rare. Transfer to the tortilla. Top the tuna with the tomato, lettuce, and guacamole. Fold into a taco.

Ray Troll: Yeah, that seems to be the one image that people really know me for. Maybe I’ll have it carved on my tombstone. I did that one way back in 1987, twenty years ago. It’s also the age of my first-born child, so spawning was on my mind. It seemed to hit the zeitgeist of Alaska and the Pacific Northwest just right and sold well. I’ve spotted it in several movies and TV shows over the decades, usually being worn by a bad guy or a seriously disturbed individual…

Anyways, to answer your question: I had moved to Alaska in 1983 and fish were beginning to take over my artwork. I was seriously immersing myself in the whole coastal fish culture and was seeing things through a ‘piscine’ eye. What’s interesting about this image is that you can interpret it in many ways. For me it’s just a way of saying have fun and make love till you croak. But it’s deeper than that. It’s about the two big heavy themes we struggle with in life: love and death. It’s also implies a link to the fish world and the brotherhood of all vertebrates. Oops, there I go talking science.

I like making images that can be taken in different ways. That’s what good art should do. Provoke thought. But in the end you just want a design that looks cool.

SIGG: The History

SIGG Switzerland dates back to 1908 when metal processing specialist Ferdinand Sigg established an aluminum product factory about 30 kilometers outside of Zurich. Along with his colleague Xaver Küng, the two men combined their love of metal and the strong belief that "aluminum is the material of the future". Log Cabin Cafe - Silver Gate, MT - Trout Breakfast

The Log Cabin Cafe is a quirky little establishment in Silver Gate, MT right outside of Yellowstone National Park's northeast entrance.

Although founded primarily to serve tourists, with less than 100 year-round residents, Silver Gate is hardly a tourist town. One of the last outposts, Silver Gate retains its pioneer charm with authentic log cabins nestled at the base of the Beartooth Mountains.

The Log Cabin Cafe was built in 1937 by local loggers and has been a restaurant since that time. Come and enjoy our home cooking. A friendly staff is ready and waiting to serve you. The café has a wonderful collection of antiques to look over and enjoy. The third owner's, Kay and Cecile King, have operated the cafe since 1977.

Our experience with the Log Cabin began with a rather dizzy waitress informing us that they were out of french toast, sausage and oatmeal. Luckily they were not out of trout which made for an excellent and unique breakfast.

A few other patrons were not so lucky because at the time we ordered the kitchen was rather backed up and the hostess kind of sent people away. By the time we were eating the kitchen staff had nothing to due except fill empty salt containers.

I think I'll send them a bottle of our new bacon salt seasoning to try out.

Beartooth Cafe - Cooke City

Had an excellent trout dinner at the Beartooth Cafe in "downtown" Cooke City, MT. (Population 100 year round residents). Would have like to try our new Bacon Salt on it but forgot to bring a bottle.

Cooke City has some great trout fishing nearby. The streams within 5 - 35 minutes of the Beartooth Café include the Lamar River, Soda Butte Creek, the Yellowstone River, the wild and scenic Clark’s Fork River, and Slough Creek. Each of these streams are famous fishing destinations and offer a variety of trout species including native cut throats, rainbow, and eastern brookies.

Unfortunately some thunderstorms (one of which drenched our party while visiting the Norris Geyser Basin) made all of the rivers and streams muddy with run off. It has been terribly dry and hot in the region so much so that the fishing in Yellowstone Park has been restricted to 5 am to 2 pm in order that the fish are not too stressed. Many fishermen are switching to carp fishing. Carp it seems love the hot weather.

Cooke City, MT

The Fishboy group spent a night in rustic Cooke City. A real western town with no pretense. Also a great place for dining on trout. I had trout for dinner and then less than 12 hours later a trout breakfast in nearby Silver Gate. Both meals for excellent! Only way it could be better would be to have a sprinkle of BACON SALT on it. I'll bring a bottle next time.

We stayed at the Alpine. Nothing fancy but they had WiFi and a nice sized room. The bikers who reved up at 6 am could have been a bit quieter though.

History of Cooke City

July of 1870 marks the first record of the discovery of gold by a rugged group of prospectors that included Horne Miller, Ed Hibbard, J.H. Moore, A.B. Henderson and James Gurley. Development was hindered because the area was part of the Crow Indian Reservation. In April of 1882 the reservation boundaries were released and the mountains were opened up to the awaiting prospectors. This mineral rich area was now known as the New World Mining District. The high elevation and lack of roads in this rugged terrain hampered the already short mining season.

Prior to 1882 Cooke City was simply known as the Miners Camp, Clarks Fork City, and Galena City. Many of the miners had wanted the name Edelweiss. Jay Cooke Jr. was a Pacific Railroad contractor and the son of an investor in the Northern Pacific Railroad. He was promoting the promise of development and the much needed railroad to this mountain hamlet. As history records, the railroad never came. On Feb.1, 1882 the town was officially deemed Cooke City, Montana Territory in his honor.

Like most western mining towns, the population changed with the flow of mining development and failures. The town site was platted by 1883. The population consisted of 227 voters who gave lively support to the two smelters, two sawmills, three general stores, two hotels, two livery stables and the local meat market.

Present day Cooke City, Montana boasts of approximately 100 hardy citizens who play host to the winter wonderland sports of snowmobiling, tour skiing and winter photography. The summer season welcomes the three hundred or so summer residents. Cooke City is bordered by Custer, Shoshone and Gallatin National Forests. The many streams and high country lakes are enjoyed by fisherman, campers and hikers. Bear, moose, elk and deer make their home in this pristine landscape.

When traveling to Cooke City from the northeast, one can enjoy the stunning Bearthooth Mountain Range with alpine elevations of 12,000 ft. To the east is the beautiful Chief Joseph Scenic Highway. Four miles west is the northeast entrance to Yellowstone National Park. The ancient Bannock Indian Trail is in close proximity. Old miner's cabins and the remains of hopeful mining claims sit silent on the northern mountain range.

Hello Fishboy,

I have a major problem! I have ordered your t-shirts for years for my dad. Fathers Day, Christmas, Birthday's you get the picture. My father loves them wears them almost everyday and everyone he meets compliments on them. His entire closet consists of these cast and pray shirts and a few others.

My dad is so upset that his favorite shirt has not been available for so long!!!! He loves the Cast and Pray shirt XL. It was and still is his favorite. He swears that shirt and his Hell Bent Fishing hat are his lucky fishing charms!

He wears them until there is barely anything left of them! He has just opened his last hidden Cast & Pray t-shirt. Which by the way is like his Sunday Best Dress Shirt. If he has to go somewhere he has to wear his "clean" Cast and Pray shirt.

Anyway last Sunday after opening his very last hidden Cast & Pray T-Shirt he went fishing on his boat and caught several large striped bass!. He came home and was eating dinner when he spilled spaghetti sauce all over the front of it!!!

He ripped it off of himself and was running around the house like he had set himself on fire looking for something, anything to clean it.

We did get most of the stain out but I swear as the washing machine was going he looked like a nervous father at the hospital waiting to hear about the birth of his child!

He was pacing the floor waiting for the machine to finish it's spin cycle so that we could see what damage was.

Like I said we got most of it out but there is still a stain. Although not as bad as expected, but he is devastated non the less.

Is there anyway that I can special order these??? I seriously cannot allow him to subject the public any longer to these t-shirts that are completely worn out! I must get him some new ones....
